A New Realm of Public Space Has Arrived in Ilford

Remember the fanfare for the multi-million pound project to revitalise and rejuvenate the public realm in Ilford Town Centre? It’s arrived …

Here it is.

Pigeons and Pigeon feeders not welcome.

UPDATE: The Pigeon lobby has been active ...

And we have random mosaic paving slabs plus some rather pleasant looking square things for the pigeons to perch on.

  1. Damned pigeons! There's one that seems to follow me wherever I go and can't resist boasting about it - "I AM that pigeon, I AM that pigeon!" it keeps shouting.

At least, that's the way my brain interprets it!

  2. As my mother used to tell me about housekeeping "Keep the corners clean and the rest will take care of itself"

  3. This Council's idea of what should be a public realm leaves a lot to be desired. I walked along it today (before I read this post) and didn't realise it was meant to be something new and special. This Council throws us crumbs (stale ones) and expects us to be grateful.
