Bag-It-Up in Barkingside

Good news, the long awaited new textile bank at Craven Gardens Car Park arrived yesterday (Monday) and it's multi-purpose. Please see below all the lovely items they can take for reuse or recycling, in bags please. There is also one in Clayhall Avenue by the Tiptree bus stop.

Here it is, right next to the huge pile of green waste that was dumped on Sunday. At the other end of the recycling bins there are several black bags containing textiles that were left there on Saturday. Next time I visit, with gloves, I will put them in the bank. We did have three textile banks that were well used and often overflowing. We hope that the new contractor has a more frequent emptying regime otherwise I might have to ask for more banks.

  1. This is great and a much used resource. It would be lovely to have back the bin for tetra packs.
