Redbridge Rubbish
– Innovative New App for Bin Day

Dear Redbridge Residents, pictured below is a dustbin. Or if you are from the USA a trashcan. They are available in a range of colours and sizes, to suit your personal needs, and can be purchased from your local hardware shop at reasonable prices.

This, below, is a black waste bag containing Redbridge rubbish.

The black waste bag goes into the dustbin.

As you can see there is room for two black bags. By putting black waste bags inside a dustbin it prevents foxes, rats, crows and cats from ripping your black bags apart, in search of food, and scattering your refuse all over your neighbours property and the public highway. This civic pride action on the part of residents means that Redbridge council do not have to spend so much of your council tax on sending the sweepers round to clear up the mess.

If you have more than two black bags on bin day then you either need to review your buy-to-waste shopping habits or you are not recycling enough and need Recycling bins, pictured below. You can order these free of charge here.

The blue one is for paper and cardboard and the green (now issued in black) one for glass bottles and jars, plastic bottles and tin cans.

  1. A wonderful initiative, and who'd have thought it, ingenius. In all seriousness, all we hear from imbeciles is excuses, and wanting others to provide dustbins or wheelie bins. The fact is if you are remotely aware of your responsibilities and recycle all your card, paper, plastic and glass, even a family wouldn't generate much more than one bag of refuse a week.

The people of Redbridge need to take some bloody responsibility and stop littering, dumping and fly tipping. It's all our environment and the one we and our families need to live in.
