Free Paint 4 Redbridge

Ever wondered what happens to the paint that gets left at the Chigwell Road Reuse and Recycling Centre? Well, it gets shipped off to the Forest Recycling Project in Walthamstow (Waltham Forest is also part of the East London Waste Authority) where it is processed and repackaged, ready for ….

Well, not a lot at present. They have 4,000 litres of paint just waiting for someone in Redbridge to claim it, for free. You need to be an organisation or community group who is a) Located or active in Redbridge, b) Seeking to brighten up a community space, c) Delivering creative projects and activities, or d) Supporting beneficiaries in need of paint for home decoration. Plus, according to this post, private residents.

The trouble is, apparently, that not many people know about it, or are unwilling to trek across to Hoe Street to collect, hence this post. In the longer term, Sophia Hubs and Redbridge council are looking to establish a new social enterprise within Redbridge with a more convenient distribution point. Sophia Hubs is a support service for new small business start-ups and social enterprises and the their chief ovaltinee is the guest speaker at our November coffee morning.

  1. Just please don't tell my husband. Have you ever lived with a hoarder?
