Barkingside Barrow Boy

As a result of a visitors’ ballot arranged by the organizers of the Redbridge Art Association’s 2013 Summer Exhibition in Valentines Park, which, over a run of three months last year, attracted almost two thousand viewers, the Best In Show award, a cabinet of high quality drawing equipment kindly donated by the Cumberland Pencil Company, went to Mr. Stanley Einhorn, a Chigwell resident and a member of the U3A Fullwell Cross Art Group. His monochrome painting was entitled ‘Barrow Boy’ and he competed against the three hundred works exhibited overall.

The Redbridge Art Association itself comprises six independent groups of enthusiastic creative artists of all ages producing a wide range of artistic media including marquetry, painting and photography and the exhibition has now become an annual summer event organized by Mrs. Norah Crombie who was previously the chairman of the Visual Arts section of the Redbridge Arts Council before Redbridge Council disbanded it some time ago.
