Scrumpers Paradise in Goodmayes

Trees for Cities is working in partnership with Vision Redbridge to plant a traditional orchard for the local community at Goodmayes Park Extension, "a huge expanse of [unused] playing fields next to Goodmayes Park, a scenic space dating back to Edwardian times".

The orchard will be a beautiful place for local people, community groups and schools to visit, play, relax and pick free, tasty fruits. The trees will create a haven for bees, butterflies and other pollinating insects that in return will help to ensure a bountiful harvest. This rich habitat will attract birds, bats and other wildlife, increasing the biodiversity and ecological value of the park.

There’s a community planting day on January 14.
