We had a really good Restart Party at Fullwell Cross Library last Saturday afternoon. Plenty of tech and more mundane electrical items were brought along by locals and others from far and wide. Not everything was fixed but the team of Restarters had a jolly good go, and hopefully the owners learnt a thing or two.
Like how to take things apart, what they look like inside and where to start and how to go about the fault finding process.
One thing we were really pleased about was that the team included two women, busting the myth that women don’t do tech.
Here’s the roll of items brought in with some smileys (it got fixed) and some glums (it didn’t get fixed) but I took the photo a little before the end and there were still quite a few in progress items at that stage. All in all a very worthwhile exercise. We are considering another next year.
This was the last of the East London events for 2016 sponsored by East London Waste Authority. If you wish to keep updated for new events then please keep an eye on the Restart Project events page.
