Introducing Shahrar Ali
– The Green Party Number 3

I'm very excited to be part of an energetic Green Party team. Standing alongside Sian Berry, Caroline Russell and other lifelong campaigners on the London-wide Assembly list, our desire to serve this remarkable city is guided by a belief that all Londoners deserve to have their basic needs met, and then some. Greens anticipate and understand the necessities that make life not just liveable but enjoyable, too, and seek to deliver on these.

As a lifelong Londoner, I would relish the opportunity to represent and serve Londoners' interests from City Hall. I would tackle the problems faced by ordinary people and the poverty-stricken, whether those marginalised by work which doesn't pay, public transport that doesn't come cheap, or by housing that banks on developers and investors at families' expense.

Amongst my priorities, I will give voice to tackling the everyday prejudice or downright racism faced by ethnic minorities. Greens will fight your corner, whether combating illicit racial profiling by police or confronting the Islamophobia in our schools and colleges fostered by the government's Prevent programme.

Only Greens are able to offer the radical vision and joined up approach that Londoners desperately need and deserve.

With fresh thinking for London and real experience of making progress from City Hall, Greens have a job of work to commend to you in 2016!

The Next in Line for the main 5 parties in the London Assembly list elections 2016 have been offered 400 words on this blog. They will be published if and when they are received. This is the second. I have created a new label below which readers can click to see them all together.
