Of course they are not really naked. They are wearing pink body suits and the idea is that they will exchange litter for a free gift. They will be on Villiers Street, Charing Cross station, between 11pm on Friday 18th December 2015 to 2am on Saturday, to prompt revellers into disposing of their rubbish responsibly. It’s part of a wider Neat Streets Campaign where Hubbub has been trialling innovative new techniques to encourage people to dispose of their litter responsibly.

A whopping thirty million tonnes of litter is collected from Britain’s streets every year with the clean up costing British taxpayers a staggering £1 billion.
A consumer survey, conducted by Populus on behalf of Hubbub, highlighted people’s frustration at the growing amount of litter on the streets in towns and cities across the UK.
- 90% say that littering is a growing issue nowadays in cities, towns and countryside.
- 81% of Brits say that seeing litter on the streets in their local area makes them feel angry and frustrated.
- 72% think that fines for dropping litter are not enough to deter litter louts.
- 73% think that not enough is being done to address the litter problem.
- 76% say that the Government needs to do more to address the amount of litter on our streets and in the countryside across the UK.
- 93% of those surveyed claim that they ALWAYS AVOID dropping litter
- 70% think that naming and shaming people would deter them from dropping litter
- 89% say that dropping litter should be viewed as anti social behaviour.
- 44% say that they often end up clearing up other people’s litter.
“People get very angry about litter and are open to new ways to keep our environments litter free and the Government needs to take action. We believe Neat Streets has been a huge success in raising awareness of littering and finding creative solutions that make the public engage in their environment. Christmas is one of the classic times where people drop their inhibitions as well as their litter on the street.”
