The Oakhenge at Fairlop Waters

Today saw the official opening of the new oak henge gate at the southern entrance to Fairlop Waters at the end of Station Road, Barkingside. The new entrance leads to a new off-road path for walkers, cyclists and horse riders which links to the path around the sailing lake. It was provided and funded by Sustrans in conjunction with Transport for London. Lots of local children were there riding their bicycles, accompanied by their teachers and some parents. They seemed to like the smoothie bike, so I have got to get my thinking cap on and work out a way to get ours operational. Here are some photos of the occasion.
