Have you registered to vote? #GE2015

With less than 100 days until the General Election a 43 foot state-of-the-art bus will be visiting Ilford on Saturday 28 February from 9.30am-6pm to encourage more BME (Black and Minority Ethnic) people to enrol on the electoral registers.

Operation Black Vote (OBV) seeks to increase political representation of BME communities and will be joining forces with local authorities such as Redbridge Council to bring the OBV bus to areas such as Ilford with high BME populations.

The vehicle will be located at Ilford High Road (opposite Waterstones bookshop) and will have 12 computer stations to allow people to register to vote online ahead of the 20 April deadline.

As well as its primary purpose of increasing the number of registered voters, the bus will also be a distribution point for leaflets encouraging people to get involved in community activities and local and national politics. Helpers will be on hand to answer questions, and visitors will be able to take away a variety of information to read at home.

You can register to vote now, visit: www.gov.uk/registertovote
