Keeping safe in the firework season

Redbridge Council, Redbridge Police and the London Fire Brigade (despite the cuts they have suffered in recent years) will once again be attempting to make sure residents stay safe during this year’s fireworks season. There will be the usual joint safety inspections of stores selling fireworks carried out by officers.

Bright Spark posters will be given to stores that pass those inspections to show their commitment to customer safety. If you spot any anti-social use of fireworks, call the Council’s ASB hotline 020 8478 4679. In an emergency always dial 999.

You can find out more on firework regulations and other useful firework related information on the award winning council website Redbridge-i.

The Metropolitan Police website also has a page dealing with Halloween and Bonfire Night celebrations. Click the link for a downloadable a “No Trick or Treat” poster.

General Fire safety advice can be found on the Our Watch website with a separate page dealing specifically with Barbeques, fireworks and bonfires.

Have fun … and don't get burnt.
