Let Nature Take its Course

Last year, 2012, was pretty dismal for blossom on my Pyracantha compared to the year before. There were some berries, but not a lot, and they were all gone by Christmas. The 2011 batch had lasted well into 2012 and in that February we had a flock of Fieldfares feasting on them for a few days as they passed by.

This year the blossom is a bit later and there’s masses of it again. The bees and other insects are busy at work – you can’t see them in the photo but they are there in numbers producing food for the birds. Maybe the Fieldfares will come back in 2014? Hope so!

So, if you don’t know what a bee looks like ,,,,

And how about this?

Amazing how nature can survive the perils of mankind.
