In the Zone (or not?)

The Hainault Loop showing Zones This time last year the Central Line stations on the Hainault loop beyond Newbury Park were re-zoned from Zone 5 to Zone 4. This year we have a campaign to re-zone Wanstead, Snaresbrook and Redbridge stations from Zone 4 to Zone 3. See Ilford Recorder.

Apparently, there are other stations in Zone 3 that are further from central London than these three. Of course the alternative solution, and do not put this one past TfL, is to re-zone those other stations into Zone 4. That would make Mr Gunstock popular.

Anyway, the petition is now up on-line.

Whilst I admire the award winning Tube Map, there are Tube Maps that show the lines and stations geographically so you can see which stations on different lines are close by each other. Handy that. Click!

  1. But it only shows zone 1 - must be useful for the current Mayor...

  2. Ah, but if you click on it, it opens up to a google map where you can zoom in or out and move up, down, left or right.

  3. Shouldn't the Mayor be riding a bicycle rather than using the train? Could be useful training for his retirement.
