Cards and Trees

a range of Christmas CardsHave you recycled your Christmas Cards yet? The Woodland Trust are aiming at 100million cards this year which means they will be able to plant 24,000 trees. Not sure how this works and it certainly does not help the forests being ripped up in south east Asia to make way for Palm Oil plantations, but that’s another story.

There are receptors at most Tescos, M&S, WH Smith and TK Maxx, and you’ve got until the end of this month to do it. Of course you could always make a belated New Years Resolution to save all those other cards you get throughout the year and add them to next January’s recycling bonanza.

Stop Press: I’ve just checked my emails and golly. Woodlark Island in Papua New Guinea has been saved from the oil palm industry. And by Minister Hickey, no less!! Click.
