The Green Standard

Sue Holden A letter from the Woodland Trust

Dear Supporter,
Following on from the launch of the
Green Standard, the tests of environmental leadership for political parties, things are moving forward. As part of a coalition of environmental organisations, we recently met with David Cameron and Sir Menzies Campbell, to discuss how their parties can deliver on the Standard. We also hope to be meeting as a group with Gordon Brown in the near future. It’s really important to keep the pressure on political parties to create robust policies to protect the environment and the Green Standard coalition will be publishing regular assessments of how the parties are faring. You can help as well, if you haven’t already done so, by writing to your MP to encourage them to respond to the Standard and highlight it within their party.
Kind regards,
Sue Holden, chief executive
